AT LAST, A REAL BOOTIE THAT GOES UP HIGH, JUST AS IT SHOULD
While the textile industry tends to use cheap, synthetic materials, Flemar is betting on naturalness and quality to obtain the most comfortable slippers in the world. To achieve this, we choose to work with only the finest natural materials, and to produce each slipper by hand, from start to finish.

A BEAUTIFUL SOLE
Leaving the house to take out the rubbish and having to take your shoes off when you're all bundled up in your Flemars is not cool. So we put on a good sole.
We didn't beat about the bush. A soft full grain leather sole . We didn't want plastic, but making concessions was out of the question. A flexible sole that grips the ground well. And above all, a sole that will keep your feet nice and dry if it encounters a puddle.
TO KEEP WARM, WE GO UP HIGH
Flemar is all about comfort. So, to make the slipper even warmer, we raised it a few centimetres at the ankles.
And we did this for three reasons. Firstly, to minimise heat loss. Secondly, to have a slipper that fits well on the foot and follows every step. And finally, to keep your ankles warm, quite simply.
A UNISEX SLIPPER
Flemar, these are unisex slippers. The cosiest slipper in the world, there's only one and fortunately everyone wears it beautifully.
THE BEST ALPACA WOOL IN PERU. JUST FOR YOUR ANKLES
To combine softness and warmth, we opted for alpaca wool. Durable over time thanks to its strong fibres, 3 times more resistant and 7 times warmer than sheep's wool, alpaca wool is the Rolls-Royce of wools. Finally, it contains microscopic air pockets that enhance its thermal properties, making it warm in winter, and breathable in summer.
You'll find our delicate alpaca wool at the crown of the bootie, which hugs your ankles.
SHEEP RETURNED live from the altiplano
Inside the liner, we use the finest wool from Peru. For the anecdote, we had tried alpaca wool on the inside, but it was so soft that the foot slipped too much. Sheep's wool Corriedale was the obvious choice from then on: soft, warm, and plump.
AN EXTERIOR JUST THE WAY WE LIKE IT. badana" LEATHER
The slipper is made of leather. Not just any leather. Badana" sheepskin leather, treated by hand, piece by piece. Soft, elegant leather that won't fade. Solid that lasts.
FEWER SEAMS, NO DISCOMFITURE
Seams can be tricky. Flemar's athletic feet test them by twisting them in all directions. So you might as well minimise them, and above all, reinforce them well with "bartacks" (zigzag stopping points) at the ends for a reinforced concrete shoe.
In 2018, we launch the idea of creating the cosiest slippers in the world. Our associate Guillaume travelled that same year to the Altiplano region of Peru, reputed to harbour the best alpaca woolas well as artisans who have been working it since the dawn of time.
THE BEST ALPACA WOOL
Alpacas are concentrated on the high-altitude plateaux of Bolivia and Peru. Thanks to their top-quality wool, they easily withstand the harsh climatic conditions characteristic of The Altiplano.
Our craftsmen know these high plateaus like the back of their hand and work with a network of local breeders. No intermediaries. This allows us to make sure we get the best quality, at the best price, while paying our partners properly.
As you'll have gathered, Flemars don't come from factories. Each pair of slippers is handcrafted in Peru. It's a traditional, age-old craft, masterfully carried out by our craftsmen, most of them women, who lovingly make your Flemar.
HAND-PICKED MATERIALS
Walter, our Flemar expert, personally travels to the Altiplano to source the handpicked wool before starting each production run. These are then transported to Lima, where our workshop is located. The wools are treated and cleaned by hand, and dried in the sun.
The cuts and seams are made, finishing with the cutting of the hair on the crown of the slipper. The final touches are then made.
Because the cause particularly involves us, the Flemar project supports the employment of disabled people.
