THE BOOTIE YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR, HIGH ENOUGH TO KEEP YOU WARM
While the textile industry often relies on cheap, synthetic materials, Flemar bets on naturalness and quality to create the most comfortable slippers in the world. To achieve this, we choose only the finest natural materials and handcraft each slipper from start to finish.
Introducing our «The Bohème». It makes no compromises on comfort, featuring a bootie cut to keep your ankles warm and an insole designed for fearless walking on wet ground. Made from 100% natural materials, including alpaca wool, Corriedale sheep wool, and an additional layer of 'Badana' leather.
A BEAUTIFUL SOLE
Leaving the house to take out the trash, only to have to take off your shoes while you’re all bundled up in your Flemars, definitely not cool. That’s why we designed a great sole.
We didn’t beat around the bush. A soft full-grain leather sole was a must. No plastic here, concessions were simply not an option. We created a flexible sole that grips the ground with ease, and above all, one that keeps your feet nice and dry even if you encounter a puddl
TO STAY WARM, WE GO HIGHER
Flemar is all about comfort. To make our slippers even warmer, we’ve raised the ankle height by a few centimeters.
And we did this for three reasons. First, to minimize heat loss. Second, to create a slipper that fits the foot perfectly and moves with every step. And finally, to keep your ankles warm, plain and simple.
A UNISEX SLIPPER
Flemar, unisex slippers designed for everyone. The coziest slippers in the world and they look beautiful on everyone.
PREMIUM ALPACA WOOL FROM PERU, CRAFTED FOR YOUR ANKLES
To combine softness and warmth, we opted for alpaca wool. Known for its durability, alpaca wool is 3 times more resistant and 7 times warmer than sheep's wool, which makes it the Rolls-Royce of wools.
It also contains microscopic air pockets that enhance its thermal properties, keeping you warm in winter and breathable in summer. You’ll find our delicate alpaca wool at the crown of the bootie, where it gently hugs your ankles.
SHEEP RETURNED live from the altiplano
The inside is lined with the finest wool from Peru. Fun fact: we initially tried alpaca wool on the inside, but it was so soft that the foot slipped too much. That’s when we turned to Corriedale sheep’s wool, soft, warm, and plump, making it the perfect choice.
THE EXTERIOR, EXACTLY HOW WE LIKE IT. BADANA'' LEATHER.
The slipper is made of leather. Not just any leather. Badana'' sheepskin leather, treated by hand, piece by piece. Soft, elegant leather that won't fade, yet solid and built to last.
FEWER SEAMS, NO DISCOMFORT
Seams can be tricky. Flemar's wearers put them to the test, by twisting in all directions. That's why we minimize seams and reinforce them well with 'bartacks', zigzag stopping points at the ends, creating a strong en reinforced shoe.
In 2018, we launched the idea of creating the cosiest slippers in the world. That same year, our partner Guillaume traveled to the Altiplano region of Peru, renowned for its premium alpaca wool and artisans who have been crafting it for generations.
THE BEST ALPACA WOOL
Alpacas are found in the high-altitude plateaus of Bolivia and Peru. Their top-quality wool allows them to easily withstand the harsh climatic conditions of The Altiplano.
Our craftsmen know these high plateaus like the back of their hand and work directly with a network of local breeders, no middlemen involved. This ensures we get the best quality at the best price, while fairly compensating our partners.
As you’ve likely gathered, Flemars don’t come from factories. Each pair of slippers is handcrafted in Peru, following a traditional, age-old craft. Our skilled artisans, many of them women, create your Flemar with care and attention to detail.
HAND-PICKED MATERIALS
Walter, our Flemar expert, personally travels to the Altiplano to source the handpicked wool before each production run begins. The wool is then transported to Lima, where our workshop is located. There, it is carefully treated, cleaned by hand, and dried in the sun.
The cuts and seams are carefully made, followed by the trimming of the hair on the crown of the slipper. Finally, the finishing touches are applied.
